The Age of the Barbarous is a Korean YLAB webtoon and the 8th Blue String webtoon. The story was written by Euicheol Shin and illustrated by Daehyeon Jang. It is published by YLAB.

"I found someone who looks exactly like me on SNS! He seems to have everything unlike me who grew up in an orphanage. Maybe he could be my twin?! When I was about to find him and solve my life problems, I got into huge trouble!!"
Release Schedule[]
Naver Webtoon began serializing every Thursday starting April 28, 2021. It was completed with the final episode including a review on April 6, 2022. It became a paid service on May 10, 2022. It was converted to recommendation completion in June. There is currently no official English.[2]
- From July 16, 2021, the series was translated on the simplified Chinese page of Dongman Comics, Naver Webtoon's overseas service.

You do not need to read any other Blue String Webtoon to understand this. Although Youngha Jeon appears, he is only a cameo.

Timeline[]There is nothing really known of when this webtoon appears on the timline. The first hint is the existence of Hanlim Gym and Youngha Jeon that appears to be more of a teenager than adult like he appears in Study Group. The second hint is the appearance of "A" whom The World is Money and Power and doesn't look any different. Therefore, that this has to take place a bit after Hanlim Gym but before Study Group and has to be around the time when The World is Money and Power occurs. Crossovers[]

There isn't much Evaluation and no known Criticism.[2]
As of episode 22, it is performing poorly, ranking 40th in overall popularity and 25th in male popularity. In the end, the final ranking based on completion was 52nd in overall popularity and 31st in male popularity, making it a box office failure as a blue string work. Readers are somewhat relieved that it was not completed as early as Student Peace Council.[2]

- Before the webtoon was published, the protag was released on YLab's Instagram and the new Bluestring webtoon was promoted.[5]
- The meaning of the title is mentioned in episode 6.
- In Korean webtoon, this webtoon has the second lowest interests (Korean standards) with 33,400. With King Game third.
- Regardless of its popularity, it is the work that is currently linked to the most works among Blue String works: Hanlim Gym, Study Group, Friendly Competition, and The World is Money and Power.
- According to the author, the original title was going to be 'Double Trouble', but it ended up being 'The Age of the Barbarous'. In the Japanese version, it is serialized under its original name, 'Double Trouble'.[6]
